amazing race as a dreamer

my friend alex put on an event tonight for university of dreams...amazing race. my group consisted of me-leader, gabby-sweetheart(middle person in image from dc) and pritesh- from dubai/wall street intern. we started out the race and i thought we were toast at our 2nd clue we were in first place i couldn't believe it. luckily i knew answers to the riddles pretty fast! and ran those 2 ragged, we made it to times square first and as i ran to the finish i met alex with a victory hug.
i almost died!
1st clue:
to begin your quest you must find the building where a king once climbed, they come to work but not to live, to see all that the city has to give.
answer, empire state building 34th and 5th
2nd clue:
it may not be a subway 'station' but all trains meet at this popular midtown location. take your answer downstairs to the whispering wall.

3rd clue:
by defying zeus he carried the blame, the heavens on his shoulder atlas was his name.
a plaque sits in front of where the christmas tree stands bright, complete the phrase...

4rd clue:
since 1982 his show has aired at night, the ed sullivan theater shining bright.

5th clue:
this square is the center of it all, at midnight with the drop of a ball. amongst the crowds find only one sitting outside roxys.

dc bound via charter bus

felt like a LONG drive! but when we got there the sun was shining i was sweating and having fun sight seeing the monuments. dc is extremely cute and reminds me a lot of london. there were 2 things i was wanting to do...tour the white house...which because of traffic we missed. and eat a cupcake from georgetown cupcake, which also because of things taking so long we missed. i was pretty sad but just another reason to go back right?

crummy day

turning 21 when you don't drink is pretty uneventful. but i have awesome friends who took me all around manhattan and partied like we were drunk anyway, okay not like we were drunk but we had tons of fun...video's to come soon!
today was a really horrible day at work i was there till 7:30...and i could do nothing right it was extremely frustrating. i did however come home to the cutest package ever from one of my besty's emily and my sweet friends at pinnacle. it seriously almost made me cry as i read it walking down the hall. thanks em and everyone else!

i can't believe i freaking saw robert pattinson today!

today i got an early birthday present from edward...i was sitting enjoying some breakfast at a starbucks at washington square with a besty friend jess. suddenly i see these loads of men running backwards taking pics i start freaking out 'who is coming, who is coming?' next thint i know it is robert pattinson walking right by my window/seat i almost died! i ran to the other window and snapped a pic. than we sat in the park and watched a little scene until it started pouring and i was late for work! i was like a giddy little school girl. and i absolutely adore him with his ray bans on mmmmm good!!

big apple barbeque

today was the big apple bbq in madison square park. went with some friends and tried a lot of different things. it was awesome because there were a lot different vendors from all over the country. i tried ribs, pulled pork, beans, jalapeno coleslaw, sausauge, brisket and mango yogury it was all really yummy!!

instyle magazine shoot!

last wednesday i got to go to an instyle shoot for the september issue. it was for fashion and accessories, the model had on cute dresses mixed with cutie purses and crazy combo of fingernails. in one pic she is wearing an awesome pea green dress and her fingernails go from light purple to dark. another shot she has a brown zipper dress with a yellow purse and her nails are white on the cuticle area and the rest of the nail is black, etc. and the nail lady actually painted right on her nail. it was awesome to see and be part of the shoot. i even got to stand in for test shots so i had the outfits draped around my neck and held the purses that will be seen in the article. awesome right?

coney island, ny

coney island is like a permanent carnival, full of rides, people, and yummy fried food. it was a lot of fun and i would seriously consider taking the 1 hour ride there and back again for that amazing corn dog!

happy national doughnut day

today ventured through the rain to lower east side to the new york doughnut plant...i tried vanilla bean and carrot cake and oh my so yummy! can't wait for another visit to try some other ones like jelly filling and peanut butter frosting/creme brulee/ coconut icing/raspberry cake doughnut/etc.

first i would like to note i will turning 21 on the 16th of this month fun! and everyone please mourn for a moment because this is my last eventfully good birthday until i turn 65...at which age i will finally be able to cash in on sr citizen discounts (if they still exist).
work today was interesting, i like my interns for the most part. one of my colleagues has a little yippie puppy named riley, she is cute, crazy and a puppy...so teething. riley and i became buddies today she snuggled up on my lap and even fell asleep for a little bit. after lunch though she became my enemy, she seriously terrorized me. she chased me around the room (which isn't roomy or big enough for said chasing) she would than bite my shoes so i would kick her away lightly and she persisted so i would lift my foot and she would jump to get me, meanwhile her mommy didn't even notice what was going on i got so bugged after the 15th time. at one point other coworker d came over to help me and riley was barking so loud! s(3rd coworker) was on the phone and was bugged at us like it was our fault and she said "guys i am on the phone" like shut the dog up/quit playing with it...as if i was enjoying this fun little game of getting bitten, chased, and barked at by the little dog. needless to say i am not that sad i don't have to deal with riley until monday.
